LJIS Band eMail

If you have a student in one of the four LJIS bands and have not received email this school year (09-10) please update your child's information in CHARMS.

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome back to school!  We’re excited about getting off to a great start on a new year with the Panther Band.  If you have a school owned instrument, bring it Monday before first period.  Please label the instrument case with your name on a piece of tape.  School owned instruments will be checked in to Mr. Anderson on Monday and checked out as soon as possible.  Student-owned instruments will not be needed the first day of school.

On Monday we will issue lockers and hand out folders full of forms, calendars, and practice cards.  Please come to class on Monday with a pencil bag containing at least 2 highlighters (1 blue, 1 pink) for your band folder.

If you have not yet updated your roster information, please take care of that ASAP:

1. Login to CHARMS –www.charmsoffice.com

2. The School Code is “LakeJacksonISBand”

3. The Student Password is your child’s 5-digit School ID (lunch number)

4. Click on “Personal Info” and enter all missing information or correct anything you see that is inaccurate.

5. Fill in all information, especially Adult 1 and 2.  Scroll down the page to find these entries.

6. Click on Update at top when done entering all information.

7. Click on “Exit” when you see “Student Updated” in red by the Update button.

8. Login to Charms in the future from home and check your e-mail regularly to stay on top of band activities       and information.

It is our goal to begin playing instruments in class beginning on Tuesday.  We will begin with daily drill and warm up.  All students will need to bring instruments in good working order and woodwinds will need a minimum of three good reeds.  All students will need to purchase the correct book for their instrument, Foundations for Superior Performance by Richard Williams and Jeff King.  This book is available at B&H Music (297-1278) and cost is $6.50 for all woodwind and brass books and $9.95 for percussion books.
